The Mar Menor is serviced by two international airports, Alicante and Murcia San Javier.

Alicante is on the northern outskirts and is no more that a 45 minute drive for the Mar Menor, and there are a
considerable number of weekly flights coming in from the UK, and other destinations.
Murcia San Javier on the other hand is more central, and is no more than a 15 minute drive from the Mar Menor,
and is more assessable the UK residents living in the North. Murcia San Javier also offers shuttle services to Barcelona,
Madrid, and Valencia for those who want to explore Spain further.
In recent years the motorway network has been upgraded which also makes the rest of Spain more assessable by car.
Hire cars can be arranged through Villas in the Sun who have negotiated preferable rates for their guests.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS :-
FROM ALICANTE.
- TURN RIGHT OUT OF THE AIRPORT - ALICANTE
- AT ROUNDABOUT HEADING FOR THE MAIN ROAD, TURN ONTO THE A7, WHICH IS SIGN POSTED TO MURCIA.
- FOLLOW THE A7 - ALWAYS SIGNPOSTED MURCIA - APPROX 20 MINUTES.
- STAY ON A7, LOOKING FOR SIGNPOST FOR A37 SIGNED TORREVIEJA AND CARTAGENA. STAY ON THIS ROAD FOR APPROX 35 MINUTES.
- YOU WILL GO THROUGH TWO TOLL GATES, EACH COSTING APPROX 5 EUROS EACH.
- YOU WILL THEN GO THROUGH A SHORT TUNNEL WITH A SIGN POSTED FOR LOS ALCAZAROS.
- NOW FOLLOW LOCAL DIRECTIONS TO YOUR VILLA.
- THE JOURNEY FROM ALICANTE TO YOUR VILLA SHOULD TAKE APPROX 1 HOUR DEPENDING ON TRAFFIC AND THE TIME OF THE DAY.
FROM MURCIA SAN JAVIER
FOR THOSE OF YOU FLYING INTO MURCIA SAN JAVIER AIRPORT, BASICALLY FOLLOW THE SAME DIRECTIONS FROM THE A7.
TRAVELLING TIME FROM MURCIA SAN JAVIER IS APPROX 30 MINUTES.
